WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today Congressional Progressive Staff Association (CPSA) leadership released the following statement commemorating the association's second anniversary and new membership milestone:

"This week marks the second anniversary of the Congressional Progressive Staff Association. In just two years, our staff association has grown from a small group of passionate progressives into an unparalleled source of community and driver of change in the halls of Congress.

"We are proud to announce that this month CPSA has surpassed 1,500 registered members, making us the largest staff association on Capitol Hill. In addition to being a source for education and mentorship, CPSA has been instrumental in advancing progressive policies and winning crucial victories for congressional staff. These include helping win staff the ability to unionize, increasing the House Members' Representational Allowance (MRA), expanding family and medical leave coverage and overtime pay protections, and establishing a national pay floor for House staff nationwide.

"Despite the challenges of operating in a time of divided government, our work has not stopped: This year, we have redoubled our efforts to protect and expand the rights of all House and Senate employees in the Capitol and across the country. As we lay the groundwork for our next two years, let us remember that when we stand together to fight for our shared progressive values, we can deliver real, transformative change.”

CPSA was formed in 2021 to uplift the voices and experiences of progressive staff. We believe by educating people on the issues impacting staff and advocating for structural reform, we can inspire meaningful change for congressional employees across the country. With over 1,500 members, CPSA is the largest staff association on Capitol Hill and is growing every day.
